Based on Mitchell Zuckoff of the storied assault from 2012, 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi is the newest film from Michael Bay and centers on the night Islamic militants led an assault on the American diplomatic compound based in the Libyan city. It’s a gripping and moving story, full of bravery and heroism and brought to life in thrilling fashion by the always entertaining director.

As for the actors portraying the besieged soldiers, Bay has assembled a stellar cast here that includes Pablo Schreiber, John Krasinski, James Badge Dale, David Denman, Max Martini and Dominic Fumusa. There’s not a weak link to be found, and last week at the film’s Canadian press day, we were lucky enough to catch up with Schreiber for an exclusive interview.

During the course of our discussion, the actor spoke about what it was like working on a Michael Bay movie, the message he hopes people take away from 13 Hours, how helpful it was having some of the real life soldiers on set and much more.
