Sure enough, as it struggles to break even financially, Brave New World is unlikely to shake any feathers when it comes to MCU milestones (but at least it’s not bottoming out like The Marvels either). When asked by Variety, he itted he was more than willing to be “an idiot for money, which I’ve done before.” Well, that attitude has served him well as Brave New World has ended up doing Ford a big solid.

According to TheNumbers‘ league table of the highest-grossing actors in film history, Ford is all set to move up a ranking thanks to Cap 4‘s ongoing earnings. As of the time of writing, the 82-year-old icon is just $11 million behind Johnny Depp, which means he’ll soon switch places with the Pirates of the Caribbean alum as Brave New World will undoubtedly make more than that across its third weekend at the box office.

So where will this place Ford in the rankings? Surprisingly low, in actual fact. Following this weekend, Ford will rise to 44th position on the chart, putting Depp into 45th, based on a total career gross of $10,852,899,702. Unsurprisingly, circa 99% of the actors above Ford in the ranking hail from the MCU as well, with many performers of considerably less fame outflanking him due to their multiple Marvel appearances — e.g. Benedict Wong (38) and Paul Bettany (20). The ultimate proof that a Marvel gig is the way to bump up your career gross? In the number one position, making him the highest-grossing actor of all time, is none other than MCU cameo mainstay Stan Lee. Excelsior!

Clearly, Depp needs to get himself a role in the Marvel multiverse if he hopes to climb back over Ford in the rankings. Such a development isn’t even necessarily as impossible as it once seemed, given that the Fantastic Beasts veteran is set to make a major Hollywood comeback in action-thriller Day Drinker alongside Penelope Cruz. Meanwhile, if Ford wants to make it into the top 40 he may want to bug Kevin Feige into slipping Red Hulk into Avengers: Doomsday. With any luck, the man’s not done being an idiot for money yet.

On the heels of the film’s growing success, Harpar’s Bazaar sat down with Lily-Rose Depp for a recent interview. She clearly takes after her father Johnny Depp in one definite sense when it comes to movie roles, as she explained, “I’m interested in the darker underbelly of things. As an actor, you hope that your role will be as meaty as can be, so you have as much to dive into as possible.”

She also revealed that when she was just three years old she was allowed to watch a particular movie starring her father which ended up disturbing her so much that she refused to ever watch it again. “I being petrified by that, which is weird, because I don’t have many memories from when I was that young. It’s a difficult childhood memory.”

One might believe she’s talking about her father’s first role in A Nightmare on Elm Street but such is not the case. The film in question is, believe it or not, Edward Scissorhands. Considering she was three years old, one can understand that she might really believe that her father had scissors for hands but that’s not what actually affected her.

Depp explained, “I was traumatized by it. Not because I thought he was scary but because everyone was being so mean to him and I got really upset.”

Lily-Rose refusing to watch the film again because her father’s character was being treated so poorly by everyone else might be a perfect father-daughter story.

She also hated the ending because many of the characters ultimately end up not being ive of Scissor-fingers.

She carries a little bit of the emotions she had for Edward and somewhat applies it to Nosferatu despite the character’s being totally different. “Edward’s the good guy,” she stated, “and Nosferatu’s kind of the bad guy, but there’s a part of me that feels a little bit of empathy for Nosferatu. I mean, am I sick for feeling that way?”

As Depp can now celebrate her role in the remake of Nosferatu, it’s highly unlikely that she will ever star in a remake of Edward Scissorhands, unless it’s an Eddie-gets-revenge sequel and, with scissors for hands, it could be a clean-cut triumph.

Tim Burton, the “Master of the Macabre,” is fresh off the success of Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, the long-awaited sequel to his 1988 cult classic. Now, fans are wondering whether some of his earlier iconic works could also get the sequel treatment.

The director was recently at the Marrakech International Film Festival where he answered questions during a Q&A, one of which was about his future plans of doing another sequel. Given Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice’s stellar performance, earning over $450 million globally, it’s only natural for fans to wonder what’s next on the director’s list of projects.

Burton, however, is adamant about not touching two of his most beloved works — the 1990 fantasy/romance film Edward Scissorhands, and the 1993 stop-motion animation musical The Nightmare Before Christmas. Both of these films “felt like a one-off thing” to Burton, and he added that there are some movies that “are best left on their own.”

The audience was also eager to know whether the director would reunite with his long-time collaborator, Johnny Depp, for another project. Burton answered “Well, I’m sure there will be.” And with that simple statement, fans are wondering if that collaboration is coming sooner than we think.

Brian Warner, aka Marilyn Manson, is not a nice person. The 55-year-old shock rocker has been the subject of several horrible allegations, including an abuse lawsuit by Game of Thrones actress Esme Bianco and accusations of sexually assaulting a minor.

His on-off relationship with actress, model, and musician Evan Rachel Wood between 2007 and 2010 resulted in an engagement. However, in February 2021, it came to light that Manson had been abusive to her, as well.

The Westworld star took to social media to accuse Manson of “horrific” abuse, as well as alleging he had started grooming her back when she was a teenager. Wood’s bravery in speaking out prompted other women to report similar allegations.

However, Manson fervently denied the allegations, calling them “horrible distortions of reality,” and, in turn, filed a lawsuit against Wood in response in March 2022. The singer cited defamation and emotional distress as his justification for that action.

The case echoed that of John C. Depp, II v. Amber Laura Heard, when actor Johnny Depp — a friend of Manson’s — as plaintiff, filed a defamation complaint against the defendant and his ex-wife Amber Heard, claiming $50 million in damages after Heard accused him of abuse, of which he was controversially cleared. In that instance, the jury unanimously found that Heard defamed Depp and awarded him $5 million in punitive damages and $10 million in compensatory damages.

However, unlike Depp, Manson’s attempts to legally clear his name failed spectacularly. According to Deadline, the singer has dropped his long-running lawsuit against Wood and has agreed to pay her somewhere in the region of $327,000 in attorneys’ fees.

A statement by a representative of Wood, obtained by Rolling Stone, said, “Marilyn Manson – whose real name is Brian Warner – filed a lawsuit against Ms Wood as a publicity stunt to try to undermine the credibility of his many accs and revive his faltering career. But his attempt to silence and intimidate Ms Wood failed.” The statement continued, “As the trial court correctly found, Warner’s claims were meritless. Warner’s decision to finally abandon his lawsuit and pay Ms Wood her full fee award of almost $327,000 only confirms as much.”

That failure could be because Manson forgot an important detail when he filed his lawsuit — he didn’t receive anything like the on TikTok, social media, or in public that many people believe ultimately helped Depp win his defamation case against Heard.

Johnny Depp has been hiding in the shadows for the better part of the last two years, following the conclusion of his legal battle against ex-wife Amber Heard. Now, however, it appears that the decorated actor is ready to make his return to Hollywood — or at least attempt to.

The trial against Heard concluded in June of 2022 and since then, Depp has starred in the French period drama Jeanne Du Barry and directed an indie movie called Modi: Three Days on the Wing of Madness, both of which you’ve probably never seen. Now his return to Hollywood looks set, and it will feature a familiar face alongside the actor.

Johnny Depp is set to star opposite Penélope Cruz in the Lionsgate action thriller, Day Drinker. This will be the fourth time that the two stars have shared the screen, and they’re ed by a roster of experienced creatives in the action film industry.

Directing the movie will be Marc Webb, known for his work on The Amazing Spider-Man films. Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee are set to produce the movie. The pair have plenty of experience in action films, having worked on the John Wick series in the past. Other producers include Adam Kolbrenner and Zach Dean, who have also worked on plenty of major action projects from Free Guy to Fast X and a lot more. 

While many details about the movie have been kept under wraps, a synopsis says that it will focus on a cruise ship bartender who meets a mysterious day drinker. After connecting on board the cruise ship, these two wind up thrust into a criminal underbelly. Lionsgate chairperson Adam Fogelson also shared a statement to promote the movie and its cast.

“Day Drinker combines a highly commercial concept with wildly outrageous twists and turns all set in an incredible world,” the announcement read (per The Hollywood Reporter). “There is no better filmmaker than Marc or two more perfectly cast actors than Johnny and Penélope to bring that world to life.”

Depp’s return to Hollywood will be the fourth time that he has shared the screen with Cruz. First, the two appeared in the 2001 film Blow before meeting up again for the sequel Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Most recently, the duo appeared in Murder on the Orient Express, which was released in 2017.

Since their last appearance together, Cruz has appeared in several projects including the TV series American Crime Story, Pandemica, and the 2023 film Ferrari starring alongside Adam Driver. Cruz was herself brought into Depp’s legal drama with Heard in 2022, when she penned a written deposition defending her longtime collaborator.

Absurd rumors seem to go hand-in-hand with fame. It doesn’t matter how much better our technology or access to information gets, if people catch wind of some titillating tea, they’ll believe damn near anything.

The longtime model, now 50 years old, still has the same jaw-dropping appeal that made her such a star several decades back, and those iconic cheekbones and fierce appeal quickly reignited rumors of the eldest Depp child’s parentage.

It’s certainly true that Lily-Rose looks like Moss, but clearly Depp has a type. You know who else the 25-year-old looks like? Her mother, who is also a model and, like Moss and Amber Heard, sports a lean, angled appeal that clearly reels the 61-year-old in.

With her acting career absolutely blooming to incredible heights, it’s easy to see why 21-year-old Jenna Ortega is the talk of the town. Given her massive stardom, it’s only natural for folks to assume that she’s got a partner draped over her arm — and apparently, the world believes that her partner is 61-year-old Johnny Depp.

Just two years ago, Depp was involved in the most high-profile trial of his career with ex-wife Amber Heard. Upon a decision in the trial being reached, Depp and Heard went their separate ways, which obviously led many to believe that it was only a matter of time until Depp was back on the dating scene. That being said, a growing rumor that he is dating Ortega was started last year and continues to attract attention, so much so that Ortega has had co-stars approach her directly about the rumor.

The rumors have sent shockwaves across the internet, mainly due to the significant 40-year age gap between the two actors and Depp’s history of dating younger women in the past. When it comes to the realm of Hollywood, of course, unexpected couples get together quite often. I mean, just look at Doja Cat and Joseph Quinn. But is there any credibility regarding this rumor about Ortega and Depp?

Is Jenna Ortega dating Johnny Depp?

Due to their respective connections to incomparable director Tim Burton, it makes sense why some moviegoers are convinced that the pair now have a romantic connection with each other. However, the rumors are simply untrue, so no, Ortega and Depp are not dating. Quite the opposite, really, seeing as Ortega replied that she doesn’t “know that person” when asked if she was dating the Pirates of the Caribbean star. In an interview with BuzzFeed, Ortega spoke further on the rumors, calling the entire ordeal “insane” and false after she was misquoted in news headlines and an apparent Instagram story of her denying the rumors.

On that same note, Depp’s team revealed to NME that the actor has “never met or spoken” to Ortega or starred in a project with her and has no plans to. They also confirmed that these “malicious rumors are intended to harm his reputation and career.” Clearly, the dating rumor is a hoax and holds no water. Combine this rumor with an onslaught of uncomfortable AI-generated images being sent to her and it’s not hard to understand why Ortega chooses to refrain from social media most of the time. Not to mention some of those Beetlejuice Beetlejuice reactions.

Jenna Ortega has responded to a false rumor that left her in stitches, involving her supposedly dating a certain controversial Pirate of the Caribbean. 

For context, speculation began swirling last year when celebrity gossip page Deu Moix shared an anonymous tip claiming that Ortega and fellow actor Johnny Depp were spotted out on a date. 

While the tip was unsubstantiated, the rumor gained traction — perhaps because of fans’ wishful thinking given that the pair are both Tim Burton muses — and began circulating on gossip sites. The Wednesday star reportedly quashed the rumors in a since-deleted Instagram post, while representatives for Depp released a statement confirming he had “no personal or professional relationship with Ms. Ortega whatsoever.”

However, the rumors were given new life this week, when Buzzfeed asked Ortega about the craziest rumor she’d heard about herself. “Probably that I was in a serious relationship with Johnny Depp and I wanted everybody to leave us alone,” the actress replied. She went on to reveal that she “never spoke on that” and “never said anything like that”, before lamenting the fact that “articles really do just make up their own quotes.”

“I thought that was pretty hilarious,” Ortega added. Apparently, the rumor mill was churning ferociously enough that it reached the ears of Saltburn actor Richard E. Grant, who co-stars in Ortega’s black comedy film, Death of a Unicorn. “I was on set with [Grant] and he came up to me and he just said ‘Oh so you and Johnny,’ and I laughed because — I don’t know that person.”

Fans have promptly lauded Ortega’s “I don’t know that person” soundbite, not least because it has the very same energy as Mariah Carey pretending to be unaware of who Jennifer Lopez was in 2003. “She ate him up so bad,” one wrote on X, with another asking Oretga to “end that man again for me.” 

Ortega is probably wise to distance herself from Depp, as the actor’s reputation remains somewhat damaged following his defamation trial with ex-wife Amber Heard. Despite the messiness of that case, Depp is reportedly atop the casting call for a return to the sixth installment of Pirates of the Caribbean, at least according to the film’s producer Jerry Bruckheimer. 

For her part, Ortega is starring in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, the sequel of the Burton original premiering next month. Burton has previously worked with Ortega on Wednesday, and with Depp on films like Edward Scissorhands and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the latter of which I will never forgive for being so needlessly creepy.

The actor seems to follow in the footsteps of famous actor Leonardo DiCaprio, who famously only dates people in their early 20s. In Depp’s case, the actor went for a model in her late 20s.

Yulia Vlasova is a Russian model and beautician, and she is 29 years old. The model first met Depp in 2021 at the 55th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, and they have been spotted several times. Most recently, The Daily Mail released new photos at the London Heliport together this past Thursday. Sources told PEOPLE that the two are seeing each other, but they are keeping everything “casual.” The insider noted that “they don’t yet use the “boyfriend-girlfriend” labels. “They see each other here and there.”

They also posed together alongside late musician Jeff Beck in Prague in July 2022, and she shared a selfie showing her kissing his cheek. Vlasova hasn’t addressed their relationship, but has been teasing the couple rumors on Instagram in several posts, some of which have been deleted. She also previously called Depp her favorite actor during an Instagram Q&A, noting that “he is a man who is incredibly talented and inspiring.”

Following his very messy divorce, Depp has continued to keep out of the public eye and continued to prioritize his health and career. He might continue to do just that since his relationship with Vlasova is so casual. And, who knows, maybe he’ll dump her when she turns 30, as Amber Heard herself filed for divorce when she was 30 years old.
